This year we are happy to be utilizing MathNation by Accelerate learning in our 9-11 grade math courses. As you continue to work with your child this year, we want you to be aware of an incredibly useful tool provided by MathNation. The Tutoring Wall. This absolutely free feature can be accessed electronically by any of our math students for 24/7 access to professional educators who will answer questions in real time! For more information, see the attached flyer and scan the QR code! Thank you for partnering with your child in their education!
In the next few days, your student will be given their i-Ready diagnostic results feedback to take home. Please take some time to review these results with your child. Your report will walk you through your child's current assets and opportunities for growth. In response to this information, your child has also been placed in a new Flex class. This is a short, 25-minute period of the day when students have the opportunity to get individualized attention in their areas of growth. This will look different for every student depending on their need. These groups are fluid, meaning that as your student grows and demonstrates growth, they will be moved to the group that best accommodates them at each level of their journey. We want all of our students to know their strengths and celebrate growth, so as we continue to assess and get more information this year, we encourage you to engage in conversations with your child about their learning, their strengths, and what they're working to improve. This system is not about "passing the test," but about meeting goals, and we will celebrate all the small successes along the way! I am excited to share that Franklin-Simpson High School is implementing a Mathematics and Reading program called i-Ready®.
What is i-Ready?
i-Ready is an online program designed to support teacher-led instruction. It helps your student’s teacher(s) determine opportunities for growth, personalize learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains.
The i-Ready Inform™* assessment is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s instructional level, giving teachers the data they need to best support each student’s learning. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. Students at FSHS are in the process of completing the i-Ready Inform assessment over the course of this week.
What happens next?
The i-Ready Inform will provide results that help me identify your student’s strengths and determine next steps for instruction. I look forward to sharing these results with you throughout the year and providing a learning experience that will engage your student while teaching important skills and concepts.

Parent Portal > More > Meal Benefits When you complete registration, go back to your Parent Portal. Click the 3 lines at the top left hand corner, go down to More, then click on Meal Benefits.
BOTH of these steps must be completed. Completing the Meal Benefits portion of your online registration ensures that all students of Simpson County Schools receive the proper government funding. Regardless of income, completing this form benefits ALL Franklin-Simpson students!
If these steps are not completed you will not be able to purchase a parking pass.
