Mrs. Doty loves her students! She is consistently working to be the best educator that she can possibly be. She received her Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Arts and Humanities from Murray State University and her Masters degree in School Counseling from Western Kentucky University.
Mrs. Doty's goals are to:
Promote positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers and community.
Assist students in learning how school performance relates to future opportunities.
Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons that teach skills related to student's social, emotional, physical, and developmental self.
Work with students, parents and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.
Assist students with issues that might arise throughout the school year and at home through individual counseling and group counseling.
Mrs. Doty has been an educator with Simpson County Schools for the last 15 years. Her tenure began as music teacher at Franklin Elementary, followed by first grade teacher at Simpson Elementary for 10 years, music teacher at Simpson Elementary for 3 years, and then one year as music teacher and school counselor.
Mrs. Doty is married to her husband, Brandon Doty, and they have two daughters, Madaleigh (11) and Maecyn (3).
