Hello SES Families, Here are a few reminders before the Thanksgiving holiday. SES online Newsletter can be found at https://sites.google.com/simpson.kyschools.us/simpsonelementary/home Fundraiser Pick Up Fall Fundraiser pickup will take place on Monday November 30th at the SES Gym from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. *Please bring a photo ID with you. *We ask that everyone continues to wear a mask, practice social distancing and make this event safe for all those that participate. Back to Virtual Learning We understand the difficulties that come with a quick turnaround for our families, going from hybrid to 100% virtual learning. SES wants to help you make the most of this time. *Checking student progress in Schoology is very important for their academic success. Have your child log into their schoology page and click on grades to see how they are progressing on their assignments. *Keep a daily schedule to help stay on track. *Attend Google/Zoom meetings located on their schoology page. *If you are having any issues with assignments don’t hesitate to contact your child's teachers or the front office. *Small group instruction is available to help with evaluations, counseling, therapies, tutoring and remediation. Please contact your child's teacher to set up an appointment for a small group session. Possibility of returning to hybrid instruction: Districts will look at the map on Thursday, Dec. 3, to determine if elementary schools would resume in person instruction on Dec. 7. Look at the map on Thursday to see if your county is red. If you are red, you stay virtual the next week. If you are not red you can resume face-to-face instruction. *More information will be made available to families in the near future. Simpson County Schools Food Service and Transportation Departments will be delivering meals during this virtual learning time. Per federal guidelines, we can only deliver meals to enrolled students of Simpson County. Each enrolled student will receive a breakfast and lunch. If you would like meals delivered Monday through Friday, you will need to sign up. We will need the name of each enrolled student and the address of where meals should to be delivered to. You can sign up during the Chromebook distribution that is happening at each school Thursday and Friday. Meal delivery time will be between 11:30am-1:00pm. After the first few days, you will have a good idea of when you will receive your delivery. We ask that you place a container by your mailbox so that meals can be placed while we adhere to social distance guidelines. If you have any questions please call Central Office at 270-586-8877.
Thank you so much to our food services and transportation during this time! We greatly appreciate all the hard work and dedication for feeding the students of Franklin-Simpson! https://youtu.be/ZWsNdkL0IbA #1FS

Hello SCS Families! We will be having a SCS Wave Parade on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday of this week! I am sure some of you have seen the wave parades done by the various schools in the last few weeks. A wave parade is where teachers drive in their cars around the different neighborhoods in their districts and wave to their students. Teachers decorate their cars and students and parents hold up signs and wave as they come by. From the videos that I have seen, it seems like a fun time for all involved! The SCS Wave Parades will start around 3:00 pm each day! We are so excited to be able to do this for the students, parents, and community of Simpson County! This is an unprecedented time and we are all doing the best we can to make the best of it. We are all in this together and this wave parade is a great way to show this! The safety of everyone is one of our biggest concerns during the wave parades! As we pass by your neighborhood and/or house, please do not gather with other families. Please stay on your front porch and/or yard only. It is important that we do not have any gathering of any kind during the wave parades. Families can also make signs and posters to wave as we pass by if you would like. Our goal is to hit the majority of Simpson County over the course of these three days! Below are the neighborhoods that we will visit each day! Each neighborhood listed will be visited on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so that we give everyone a chance to experience this. If we aren’t coming by your house, find a safe space in one of the neighborhoods listed to join us for the wave parade but remember, do not gather with any other families during this time! Be sure to be looking for us around 3:00 pm if we will be in your neighborhood! We miss our school kiddos so much and this is a great way for us to see them! As always, stay safe Simpson County!! Parents of Kinders: iRead is very touchy, it likes Google Chrome as a browser, clearing cache, cookies, and history may help also. It is a "internet heavy" program also and any disruption in service may take it down. If you use the link feslogin.weebly.com your students will recognize the site from computer lab. If you have any issues use the Tech Help form on the bit.ly/fsnti20 page. Thank you!
