Principal's Message
Welcome Back! Wow! After all the planning and preparation for the 2012-2013 school year, it is almost here. Each new year brings with it an opportunity for growth and renewal. My hope is that you are as excited as I am to get started. In just a few short weeks, I will be fortunate enough to meet and greet the parents and students of our upcoming fourth graders and welcoming back our fifth.
With every school year we note that there will be a few new faces and new staff members in new roles. I hope that you will embrace these changes and join us at our open house. At this time, you will get to meet classroom teacher(s), classmates and take a tour of our wonderful school. This is always an exciting time to get to know the Lincoln staff.
It is my belief, as stated in an old Chinese proverb, that learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere. Becoming an active participant in your student’s education by volunteering in the classroom, participating in the PTO or simply joining us throughout the school year at school sponsored events is a great way to keep abreast of the ever-changing world of education. The benefits of becoming an active participant are truly immeasurable.
In closing, I am confident that 2012-2013 will be the best year ever in the history of Lincoln Elementary. Welcome back and I will look forward to working with you. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me at school or by e-mail at april.mcnaughton@simpson.kyschools.us. It is always wonderful to meet with parents and community members that believe by working together we can make Lincoln Elementary one of the best schools in the nation. It is through this constant communication that we can all achieve our potential. Thank you yet again for the opportunity to work with your children. I am truly honored and eagerly await another school year.
