VISION: School media libraries positively impact student achievement through collaboration, instruction, and utilization of resources for next generation learning.
MISSION: We will be the "hub" of the school by giving students access to a vast, variety of information and creating a life-long love of reading.
Hello! I am Mr. Northern, the library media specialist at Simpson Elementary School. The library media center provides a safe, nurturing environment in which students can successfully seek information and ideas for their educational, informational, and recreational needs. The library seeks to promote an appreciation of literature and to develop lifelong readers and learners.
In 2014, I earned a Masters of Science from WKU’s Library Media Education program. Before library media, I taught middle school language arts for six years at Lewisburg School in Logan County. As a classroom teacher, I had numerous opportunities to integrate library media resources and principles. From this, my passion to be a librarian was born.
