Hello everyone! My name is Carey Chaffin and this is my eleventh year teaching in Simpson County. Let me tell you first and foremost that I love my job! I love children! I cannot imagine ever doing anything else in my life. As far as my education goes, I first attended The University of Kentucky but returned to Western Kentucky University after the sudden death of my father. I graduated from WKU with a degree in Elementary Education in December of 2003, and have been teaching ever since. In 2009, I completed my Master's degree in reading and literacy. It is my hope that my students will love to read as much as I do when they complete their time here at Lincoln.
I was born and raised in Simpson County and as of now I have no intentions of relocating. I guess you could say that my roots are here. I have been married to my husband, Mike, for almost eleven years. In fact, we got married on the same day that I graduated from WKU. Talk about a busy day! We have a son (who is the light of my life) named Weston, and we will be welcoming our second son later this fall. In addition, we have two four-legged babies named Lexi and Rupp. They are boxer babies and absolutely spoiled rotten. If you haven’t guessed by looking at the names of my dogs, I am an avid UK fan! To put it mildly, I BLEED BLUE!!! It makes no difference what sport it is, if they are wearing the blue and white, I’m supporting them. Besides that, I like to read and attend car shows and cruise-ins. My husband and I are the proud owners of a 1969 Camaro
If you ever need me for anything please do not hesitate to call, drop by, or e-mail me at Carey.Chaffin@simpson.kyschools.us. My planning time is from 9:00-9:45 Monday-Thursday, so this is the best time to reach me at 586-7133.
