American Legion Auxiliary Unit #62 **Local**

Amount of scholarships vary depending on the number of winners, typically anywhere from $250-$1,000.  FSHS senior GIRLS ONLY can apply for the scholarships that are good at a 2-year or 4-year school.  Applicants must be a relative of a veteran who is a member of any American Legion. Valid relatives include father, mother, brother, sister, grandparents, or great-grandparents only.  Aunts, uncles and in-laws do not apply.  Applications can be picked up in the guidance office and are due back to Mrs. Bills by noon on March 30h.  

 

American Legion Post #62 **Local**

Paul Allen Rotary Scholarship **Local**

This is a $5,000 renewable scholarship good up to four years for any 2 or 4-year college/university and is based on financial need.

 

Requirements include:

  • Demonstrate a financial need (a copy of 2017 tax return must be included)
  • Evidence of extracurricular activities, 
  • Quality academic record,  
  • Demonstrate leadership ability,
  • Essay and color photo.

 

Finalists will be chosen by the Rotary Club and scheduled for an interview. Scholarship winner shall not accept any other scholarships that exceed $2500 per year.  This does not include KEES money or grants.  Applications can be picked up from Mrs. Tyler and are due back to Mrs. Bills by noon on April 17th.

 

 

African American Heritage Center Lucille Brooks Scholarship **Local** 

$1,000 scholarship will be given to an African-American FSHS senior. 

 

Requirements include:

  • Must be a resident of Simpson County for at least 2 years.
  • Must be an African-American student.
  • Good at any 2 or 4 year college or technical school.
  • 300 word essay, resume and 2 letters of recommendation required.

 

Applications can be picked up in the guidance office are due back to Mrs. Bills by 11:00am on Friday, April 13th. Late applications will not be accepted.
