Welcome to Mrs. Sekora’s Homeroom
I would like to introduce myself and welcome you and your child to my 5th grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary School. I was born and raised in Illinois and relocated to Kentucky in 1999. I have been married for 37 years to a wonderful man and have a son who is a graduate student at the University of Maryland. To round out my family, I also have a golden retriever named Artemis Fowl, who is named after a famous book character, a cat named Gracie, one squawking cockatiel, Sammy, and many fish. When I am at home, I enjoy reading and love to golf.
The door to my classroom is always open and if you would ever like to come and observe our class in action, please feel free to do so. We love showing off what we are learning in school! I am looking forward to a fantastic year and I hope that your child's experience will be positive!
My goal every year is to equip each of my students with the tools they need to be successful in their endeavors. I hope to foster a life-long love of learning and pray each student realizes by the end of the year that they are unique, special, and endowed with talents and faculties they can share with the world.
Where are my priorities? I recognize that "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove..but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
