Important Math Information
This page will be updated as we get ready to work on a new chapter.
Students will be required to fluently add and subtract numbers to 100, so it is important that they practice these daily at home for 3-5 minutes with flash cards, or just writing them on paper. There are many apps and websites too that have math facts practice. They should be able to quickly add or subtract without the use of their fingers or a number line.
Money is an area students struggle with, so the more they practice the better they will be. They should be able to identify a dollar bill, each coin, know the values of each, count mixed money, and be able to make trades.
Skills we will be working on in Chapter 1:
*I can determine whether a groups of objects (up to 20) has an even or odd
number of members.
*I can read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numberals, number names, and expanded form.
* I can count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.
Thank you for helping with these skills at home.
