AP US History is taught as a rigorous, college-level course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of United States History and prepare students for the AP US History Exam. Students study the social, political, and economic history of the United States chronologically and thematically from Early Settlement to the 21st Century. Students refine their critical thinking skills through note-taking, discussion, and extensive reading and writing assignments. The analytical skills of interpretation, evaluation, and synthesis are emphasized in the context of historical scholarship and evidence. This course requires both the AP Exam and an End of Course assessment that accounts for 20% of your grade.
