FSHS Hall of Fame Nominations Open

Simpson County Schools wants to celebrate its alumni and significant contributors and school officials need your help.  The school district will recognize its seventh class to the Hall of Fame in the spring of 2019.  The F-S Hall of Fame is located in the Commons Area of FSHS, which is a beautiful area to highlight the Hall of Fame Inductees.

SES Recognized as a Kentucky Green and Healthy School

Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools (KGHS) is a project-based program that uses the entire school building and grounds as a learning laboratory for students. SES's STLP team led the initiative. STLP will continue the project this school year, as well. Learn more about KGHS on their website

Healthier Generation Announces “America’s Healthiest Schools” LES named Bronze Awardee

A record 461 schools from 26 states honored for promoting healthy eating and physical activity... Lincoln Elementary named one of America's Healthiest Schools - Bronze Awardee.

Fresh Start Academy

On September 13th classes will get underway for the 2nd year of the Franklin-Simpson High School Fresh Start Academy. The Fresh Start Academy is designed for people 19 years of age or older that have previously dropped out of school but would like to obtain a high school diploma. Even if you have already obtained a GED you are still eligible to participate in the Fresh Start Academy. If you are interested or would like to learn more contact Joey Kilburn by phone at 270-586-8877 or by email at joseph.kilburn@simpson.kyschools.us.  All new applicants will need to set up a meeting at which time we will review your transcript and develop a plan to get you on the road to a high school diploma.  If the last high school you attended was Franklin-Simpson we can pull your transcript here.  If the last high school you attended was any other than Franklin-Simpson you will need to obtain an official copy of your transcript.

FSMS Announces New Principal

After a thorough search and selection process, the Franklin-Simpson Middle School Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Council has chosen Mr. Jaxon Grover as the new principal at FSMS. Mr. Grover is currently an Assistant Principal at Franklin-Simpson High School, where he has served in this capacity for the last 6 years. Prior to this, he has served as our CTE Coordinator, CIA Specialist, and a high school math teacher. He and his wife, Gretchen, reside in Franklin with their three children, Jasmine, Jayden, and Jordyn.

NOTIFICATION OF DESTRUCTION OF STUDENT SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

In accordance with the state and federal regulations implementing the individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), this is to inform the public of our intent to destroy personally
identifiable information related to special education services.

The Simpson County School District would like to make Parents/Guardians, Former Students,
and Eligible (Adult) Students aware that Special Education records of students who graduated
in the 2001 thru 2012 school years will be disposed of starting August 1, 2018. The District is
required to maintain records for a minimum of three (3) years from the date the child leaves the
school district.

SKY FAME

The Southcentral Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (SKY FAME) is a partnership of regional manufacturers whose purpose is to implement a work-and-learn style program that will create a pipeline of highly skilled workers. The primary method to achieve this goal is through partnerships with local educational institutions to offer the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program (AMT). With SKY FAME, students can dive into a challenging Advanced Manufacturing career while simultaneously earning a college degree, and the potential to graduate with zero student debt!
